About Geysir Geothermal Area
Steam rises from bubbling pools and fumaroles across the Haukadalur valley. While the original Great Geysir is now mostly dormant, neighboring Strokkur erupts every few minutes, shooting water up to 20 meters into the air. A must-see second stop on the Golden Circle.

Erupts year-round; steam is especially dramatic against winter snow.
